Trey Songz pense à ses fans de la gente féminine et s’offre par cinq fois torse nu sur la cover de son nouvel album Chapter V. Deux ans après Passion, Pain & Pleasure, le chanteur délivre 18 nouvelles tracks (et 2 tracks bonus) dont les titres « Heart Attack » et « 2 Reasons » en collaboration avec T.I qui est le seul invité de l’album, alors que Trey avait annoncé avoir travaillé avec Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Big Sean et Kelly Rowland.

Par ailleurs, l’artiste a déclaré sur cet album : “I’m definitely trying to leap forward with every album, and with this album, I think it’s a leap forward and a leap into the past. I want to embody in this album—this fifth album, which is very monumental for me—what I am, where I came from, and where I’m going. I just think it’s going to be very fluent, very diverse, yet very cohesive album.” (« J’essaye définitivement de faire un bond à chaque album, et avec cet album, je pense que c’est un bond en avant mais aussi un saut dans le passé. Je veux incarner dans cet album, le cinquième qui est très monumental pour moi, ce que je suis, d’où je viens et où je vais. Je pense juste que ça va être très fluide, très diversifié, mais un album très cohérent »).
