Cam Be et Jeff Baraka sortent leur dernier mini-film cette fois-ci consacré au groupe The Roots. Ils s’intéressent non pas à un historique du parcours des musiciens comme on peut souvent l’attendre dans ce genre de documentaire, mais aux Roots tel qu’ils sont aujourd’hui. Il ont pu les suivre lors du Hennessey Artistry Tour et interviewer ?uestlove, une bonne base pour réaliser un projet de qualité. La vidéo est également très bien ficelée visuellement ce qui permet de passer une dizaine de minutes agréables et intéressantes. Le spectateur en a pour son argent avec un générique de fin contenant des images dans le prolongement de l’état d’esprit général.

Cam Be s’exprime sur ses intentions humanistes quant à la représentation du groupe:

« I have always been a huge fan of the music created by the best band to ever grace the Hip-Hop genre. In this film I wanted to not only highlight the versatility of a group that has played with most everyone in the industry. But also capture candid moments of real human beings just trying to share the gifts they have been given to the best of their abilities.

In addition to the Hennessey Tour, we got an chance to sit down with drummer ?uestlove at the House of Blues in Chicago as the Roots gave the audience a glimpse of why they are considered by many the hardest working band in show biz. All and all the Roots have proven time again that they are indeed Legendary. »
